The Balanced Man

"Building Balanced Leaders for                                                        the World's Communities"

The Balanced Man Program builds a bond of lasting friendship that fosters an environment conducive to leadership and academics. Our brotherhood is built through advancement of the Sound Mind (Academics), Sound Body (Athletics), and Leadership.  It is MI Eta's belief that a man cannot have a sound mind without a sound body and he cannot have a sound body without a sound mind.  And without leadership, a man has no use for either.  To learn more about the Balanced Man Program at MI Eta, click the above tabs.

Academic performance and scholastic achievement are signs of Sound Minds at work.  The actives of Michigan Eta are continually committed to academic excellence.  For the last five semesters, MI Eta has had the highest cumulative grade point of all fraternities on campus as well as in the top two for semester grade point.  MI Eta has also been above the all men's average semester grade point for the past four semesters as well.  The brothers represent a gamut of majors from most of the departments on campus, and with almost forty active brothers scholastic help is never hard to find.  It is the goal of MI Eta to achieve a semester grade point of 3.15 by Fall 2010.

Athletics

Sound Body

The active brothers of MI Eta are involved in numerous intramural sports throughout the year including but not limited to basketball, soccer, hockey, water polo, inner tube water polo, broomball, football, and floor hockey.  Many brothers are also involved in many sports organizations on campus including Rugby Club, Lacrosse Club, and Boxing Club.  In addition, many brothers have been involved in various varsity sports.  Presently Brother Tim Schmalz is a member of the Husky Varsity Football Team and has been for the past three years.

Although not every brother has the time to fully commit to a sport, every brother is committed to maintaining his body.  This includes eating healthy and working out on a regular basis catered to his own fitness level.
